Scighera – the Anthilla operational lab
What is Scighera
Scighera is Anthilla’s operational lab. A skunkworks lab where technical research becomes direct customer service. Fast R&D, prototyping, products born from real needs.
While Anthilla remains deliberately quiet (parent company, invisible infrastructure, V9 framework), Scighera is the public voice: the customer-facing brand that presents services to Italian SMEs and professionals.
Etymology
Scighera /ʃiˈɡɛːra/ – noun, Lombard dialect.
1. Fog. The thick Po Valley fog.
2. Familiar: the trusted old friend who emerges from the fog.
Intentional double meaning: fog as the opposite of cloud, and the friend who materializes when needed. Built on this metaphor: when everything else is cloud-condominium, there’s the fog next to the customer.
Canonical tagline
“When the cloud is not enough, there’s the fog.“
The 4 Scighera pillars
- Resilience by design – systems that last, resilient storage, replication, multi-layer threat management
- Technical elegance – readable code, understandable infrastructure, documentation that works
- Fog/edge first – close to the customer, no commodity hyperscaler
- Alternative AI – V9 multi-level framework, no perpetual OpenAI subscription
Scighera anti-claims
- Not cloud-first
- Not container-pushers (Kubernetes everywhere)
- Not commodity (cookie-cutter dashboards)
- Not generalist AI (consumption-based LLM API)
- Not hyperscaler (no AWS/Azure/GCP dependency)
Scighera audience
- Primary: CIO/CTO of SMEs with 10-200 employees, B2B manufacturing, professional firms, small regulated finance
- Secondary: Freelance/technical studios of 1-5 people serving SMEs
- Tertiary: Curious technicians, anti-mainstream patterns, cybersec/AI students
Scighera has its own website. Style, content and leitmotif managed autonomously. To explore the lab: scighera.com
