Anthilla

About us

About us

An independent reality that designs modular, free and resilient IT solutions, since 2013.

Anthilla is an Italian company that builds custom software systems: self-hosted ERPs, fog/edge infrastructures, local AI platforms. We do not sell pre-packaged products: we start from the concrete problem and build the solution. We are independent, open source, self-funded.

In short

Anthilla Srl, based in Pregnana Milanese (MI). Since 2013. We build IT systems that are yours: you can modify, extend, move them. No per-user subscription, no dependency on external platforms. Your data stays on your servers. For legal data and technical stack see the Company page.

What you find, explained from different perspectives

The same reality, read by who decides, who builds, who uses, who maintains.

Business management

If you are in business management

Anthilla is the partner that asks you the right questions before proposing a solution. We do not start from the product: we start from your context, your constraints, your indecisions. Our work transforms technological complexity into clear and manageable decisions.

What you get: strategic clarity. You know what you have, what you need, what you can change without risk. The systems we build are yours: no lock-in, no per-user subscription, no dependency on external platforms. If tomorrow you want to change vendor, you can.

IT technical management

If you are in technical / IT management

We build infrastructures that work and last. Open source stack, standards, independent from commercial licenses. Firewall, reverse proxy, database, cache and resilient storage. Distributed threat management with continuous monitoring. Everything documented, everything replicable, everything yours.

We develop local AI: models that run on your servers, not on third-party cloud. Our mnemonic-cognitive prompt framework (V9) reduces LLM hallucinations up to 90% measured. For technical stack details see Company.

Who uses the systems

If you are who uses the systems every day

The systems we build are designed to be used, not endured. FLUX, our ERP, runs on your servers: contacts, activities, events, deadlines, history, all under your control. No per-user subscription, no arbitrary limits, no interfaces that change without notice.

If there is a problem, we solve it. If a change is needed, we make it. If you want to understand how it works, we explain it. You are not dependent on the tool: the tool works for you.

Who maintains and develops

If you are who maintains and develops

The code is open, the documentation is complete, the technical choices are motivated. We use modern, open source languages and tools, without binding commercial licenses. System daemons are optimized for performance and safety. Everything versioned, everything with audit trail.

Our working method is written and replicable: APEF (Anthilla Project Execution Framework) with 5 non-skippable phases, 9 method rules (M-1..M-9) and 9 honesty rules (D-1..D-9). We do not improvise: we document first, execute later, always verify.

Our principles

Five values that guide every design choice and every relationship.

Autonomy. We build independence, not dependence. The systems we create are yours: you can modify, extend, move them. You are not tied to us.

Coherence. Every action is part of a harmonic design. Technical choices follow a vision, not the fashion of the moment.

Modularity. Flexible, adaptable, scalable structures. Every system is designed to evolve, grow and last over time, without waste or lock-in.

Critical thinking. We do not follow the current: we analyze it. The best decisions come from the real context, not from preconceptions.

Real impact. Concrete, verifiable, improvable solutions. What is not measured is not done: it is only declared.

More than 10 years building free systems

A journey made of technical choices and strategic visions.

2013 — The roots

2013 — The roots

Anthilla is born. We found the company with a clear vision: to develop free, modular and independent IT systems, inspired by open source philosophy and hacker ethics.

2015 — Infrastructure projects

2015 — Infrastructure projects

We build resilient environments. We develop hybrid infrastructures for companies that need reliability, automation and complete control. We start creating custom systems for industrial and technology clients.

2017 — The value of modularity

2017 — The value of modularity

We consolidate a modular approach: every project is an ecosystem built with free, integrable and adaptable blocks. We do not sell software: we build systems with a logic.

2020 — Systemic vision and resilience

2020 — Systemic vision and resilience

During the global crisis, our approach shows its strength: resilience, autonomy, flexibility. The systems designed in previous years continue to work, adapting to the new context without drastic interventions.

2022 — L'intelligenza distribuita

2022 — Distributed intelligence

We give shape to local AI. We start developing local artificial intelligence solutions, integrating open-source tools with customer-controlled hardware, for maximum respect of privacy and performance. The mnemonic-cognitive prompt framework (V9) is born.

2024 — Partner di pensiero

2024 — From vendor to thought partner

Anthilla becomes a thought partner, helping clients see beyond the technical request, identifying hidden value, strategic optimizations and evolutionary potential in their systems.

2025 — Today

2025 — Today

Anthilla is an evolving colony. We are a network of experts who analyze, build and innovate. A collective with systemic vision, critical spirit and hacker creativity, at the service of ethical, intelligent and sustainable solutions.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a software house, a consulting firm, or what?

Both, and neither in the conventional way. We build custom software systems (ERPs, infrastructures, AI), but we always start from consulting: understanding the context, identifying the real problem, then proposing the solution. We do not sell a product: we build the solution you need.

What does “modular, free and resilient systems” mean?

Modular: every system is composed of independent blocks that can be replaced, updated or removed without breaking the rest. Free: open source, without binding commercial licenses, without lock-in. Resilient: designed to continue working even when something goes wrong, adapting to changes without drastic interventions.

Why should I choose you instead of a large consulting firm?

Because with us you talk to who builds, not who delegates. We do not have account managers passing requests to offshore teams. The people who analyze your problem are the same who write the code and configure the servers. And because the systems we build are yours: no per-user subscription, no dependency on external platforms.

What do you do with AI? Are you an AI company?

We develop AI platforms that run on the customer’s servers, not on third-party cloud. Our mnemonic-cognitive prompt framework (V9) reduces LLM hallucinations up to 90% measured, with repeatable coherence checks. We do not sell “AI”: we build systems that use AI reliably, where needed, with data that stays in your perimeter. See AIKB and V9.

Do you only work in Italy?

We are Italian, based in Pregnana Milanese (MI), but we work for clients anywhere. The infrastructure we build is independent of geography: systems can run on your servers, wherever they are. Communication is in Italian, English and French.

How much does it cost to work with you?

It depends on the project. We do not have fixed price lists because we do not sell products: we build custom solutions. The first step is always a conversation: understanding what you need, evaluating whether we are the right partner, and only then proposing a plan with transparent costs. Contact us.

Are your systems really “mine” or is there always a catch?

They are yours. The code is open source, the data stays on your servers, the licenses are open. If tomorrow you want to change vendor, you can: there is no technical lock-in, no binding subscription, no proprietary platform to migrate from. We are not interested in creating dependency: our model is to build value, not capture clients.
